The aim of the 200FG project is to characterize the interaction between the genetic background of the host and the immune response, and assess the consistency of these responses. The 200FG project investigates a group of 200 healthy individuals in serial years: it first started in 2009 and continues with validation and new functional studies each year. Plasma, serum, and DNA samples are available. Functional tests of monocyte, macrophage and T-lymphocyte stimulation tests are available, as well as assessments of trained immunity.
Genetic information based on Illumina Immunochip SNP array is available in all the volunteers, while in 100 of them also whole exome sequencing data is available (55X). Plans for the future are to collect microbiome samples from skin and feces, in addition to the yearly assessment of immunological function.
